He Is Risen: The Power of Easter

“The resurrection isn’t just something we celebrate—it’s the power we live by.”

Introduction

Easter is the foundation of the Christian faith. It is the moment everything changed—when death was defeated and hope was secured. Without the resurrection, there is no victory. But because Jesus rose, everything is different.

Key Scripture (ESV)

Matthew 28:6

“He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.”

Teaching Focus

The resurrection of Jesus proves:

  • He is who He said He is
  • Sin has been paid for
  • Death has been defeated

Commentary

The resurrection is not just a powerful moment—it is the proof of everything Jesus taught. If Jesus had remained in the grave, His claims would have been meaningless. But His resurrection validates His identity as the Son of God.

Easter shows us that sin and death do not have the final word. What looked like defeat on the cross became victory through the empty tomb. This is the turning point of history.

For believers, this means our hope is not temporary—it is eternal. Because He lives, we are not bound by fear, guilt, or death. We live in the power of the resurrection.

Reflection

What does the resurrection mean personally in your life today?

Application

  • Live with confidence knowing death is defeated
  • Walk in freedom from sin and guilt
  • Share the hope of the resurrection with others

Prayer

Lord, thank You for the resurrection of Jesus. Help me to live in the power of that truth every day and to share that hope with others.

From My Heart to Yours

Easter is more than a holiday—it is a reminder that no situation is beyond God’s power. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is still at work today. Whatever feels hopeless, God can bring life to it again.

Final Thought

The tomb is empty—and that changes everything.
