While some roles had distinct responsibilities, both men and women were invited to serve God in significant ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1. Disciples of Christ<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Both men and women were called to follow Jesus as His disciples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ref.ly\/Luke%208.1-3;esv?t=biblia\">Luke 8:1-3 (ESV)<\/a><\/strong>mentions women like Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Susanna who traveled with Jesus and supported His ministry.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ref.ly\/Matt%2028.19-20;esv?t=biblia\">Matthew 28:19-20 (ESV)<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;(the Great Commission) was given to all disciples, not just men, meaning both were responsible for spreading the Gospel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. Witnesses of the Resurrection<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Women were the first witnesses of Jesus\u2019 resurrection and were entrusted to tell the disciples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ref.ly\/Matt%2028.5-10;esv?t=biblia\">Matthew 28:5-10 (ESV)<\/a><\/strong>\u2013 The angel told the women at the tomb to go and tell the disciples that Jesus had risen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ref.ly\/John%2020.17-18;esv?t=biblia\">John 20:17-18 (ESV)<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Jesus appeared first to Mary Magdalene and told her to proclaim His resurrection.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3. Servants and Helpers in Ministry<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Men and women were called to serve the church and one another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ref.ly\/Rom%2016.1-2;esv?t=biblia\">Romans 16:1-2 (ESV)<\/a><\/strong>\u2013 Phoebe is called a \u201cservant\u201d (Greek:&nbsp;<em>diakonos<\/em>, which can mean deacon) of the church.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ref.ly\/Acts%209.36;esv?t=biblia\">Acts 9:36 (ESV)<\/a><\/strong>\u2013 Tabitha (Dorcas) was known for her acts of charity and service to the poor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ref.ly\/1%20Cor%2016.15;esv?t=biblia\">1 Corinthians 16:15 (ESV)<\/a>&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2013 Paul mentions the household of Stephanas, who devoted themselves to serving the saints.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>4. Prophets and Teachers<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Women and men were both called to prophesy and teach under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ref.ly\/Acts%202.17-18;esv?t=biblia\">Acts 2:17-18 (ESV)<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Peter quotes Joel, saying,&nbsp;<em>\u201cYour sons and your daughters shall prophesy\u2026 Even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ref.ly\/Acts%2018.26;esv?t=biblia\">Acts 18:26 (ESV)<\/a><\/strong>\u2013 Priscilla and her husband Aquila helped teach Apollos the way of God more accurately.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>5. Leaders in the Early Church<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>While the roles of elders and overseers (pastors) were typically given to men (<a href=\"https:\/\/ref.ly\/1%20Tim%203.1-7;esv?t=biblia\">1 Timothy 3:1-7<\/a>), women still played key leadership roles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ref.ly\/Rom%2016.7;esv?t=biblia\">Romans 16:7 (ESV)<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Junia is mentioned as \u201coutstanding among the apostles.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ref.ly\/Rom%2016.3-5;esv?t=biblia\">Romans 16:3-5 (ESV)<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Priscilla, along with her husband Aquila, was a leader in the early church.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>6. Spreading the Gospel as Missionaries<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Both men and women participated in spreading Christianity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ref.ly\/Acts%2016.13-15;esv?t=biblia\">Acts 16:13-15 (ESV)<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Lydia, a businesswoman, became one of the first converts in Philippi and hosted a church in her home.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ref.ly\/Phil%204.3;esv?t=biblia\">Philippians 4:3 (ESV)<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Paul refers to Euodia and Syntyche as women who labored alongside him in the Gospel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Conclusion<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Both men and women were called into God\u2019s service as&nbsp;<strong>disciples, witnesses, servants, teachers, prophets, and leaders<\/strong>&nbsp;in spreading the Gospel. While some roles in church leadership were assigned specifically to men, women were active participants in ministry and evangelism. In Christ, all believers are given spiritual gifts and called to serve according to His purpose<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ref.ly\/1%20Cor%2012.4-7;esv?t=biblia\">1 Corinthians 12:4-7 (ESV)<\/a>&nbsp;<\/strong>says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4<\/strong>&nbsp;Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit;<br><strong>5<\/strong>&nbsp;and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord;<br><strong>6<\/strong>&nbsp;and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone.<br><strong>7<\/strong>&nbsp;To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This passage highlights how spiritual gifts come from the same source\u2014God\u2014but serve different purposes in the body of Christ. Each believer receives gifts from the Holy Spirit, not for personal gain, but to build up and benefit the community of faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator
